Dremel Tools- The Best Cordless Rotary Tools

If you love fixing things around the house, or if you are fond of DIY projects, then you probably are already considering a cordless rotary tool.  Most people probably already have heard of a Dremel tool.  Dremel is the popular brand name that has made the rotary tool business explode.    Essentially though, all handheld rotary tools are similar.  Rotary tools are a handheld device which has several purposes. If you read back a few sentences, you may notice that I said “cordless”. This is because there is also a corded rotary tool. It serves the same purpose as that of the cordless one, but it has several disadvantages such as holding you “locked” in a certain distance away from the electrical outlet.

Feautures of Rotary Dremel-like Tools

The great thing about rotary tools is that it has the capability to do a lot of things. It’s like having several tools in one. Here are the features that an average rotary tool has:

Cutting—this tool can be used for effectively cutting several things such as wood. It can also be used for grooming your pet’s nails.

Carving—if you are a furniture enthusiast, you’d be glad to know that a rotary tool can also be used for easier carving of wood.  Even pumpkin carving is a breeze with these tools!

Sanding—no need for bigger machines. Sanding can now be done by a portable hand- held rotary tool.  They are exceptional in tiny crevices of furniture or metal pieces.   No other hand held sander tools can do as good as of a job as rotary tools.

Polishing—marble countertop losing its brilliance? Shine it up by turning your rotary tool on.

CORDED VERSUS CORDLESS ROTARY TOOLS?

I need to admit that cordless rotary tools are much more expensive than the corded ones, but it has some advantages making it a better buy.

Cordless rotary tools use rechargeable battery to operate, and this lets give you a suave performance, plus it is also less noisy. If you use a corded rotary tool, the length of time that you use it would charge to your electricity bill. With the cordless ones, however, you can just charge it for about two hours and then use it for six hours.

The biggest advantage of cordless rotary tools is portability. When you work, you don’t just stay in one position. You need to bend, stoop and sometimes reach in order to get the job done. These are all limited when the tool you are using is connected to a wall, which is why you are better off using the cordless one instead.

HOW MUCH TO PAY FOR CORDLESS ROTARY TOOLS

Rotary tools usually come in kits, and a complete brand new set would cost about $70. A used kit however, would cost anything from $50 or less. If you just buy the tool (without the charger and other accessories), it would cost about $30. There are also rotary tools which have specific uses, such as for pet grooming or pumpkin carving, and they cost anywhere from $20 to 30.
